Beaded Bra!!!!

I beaded a bra! This is taking my beading to a whole new level. It looks way fabulous. I used the mixture technique, with dazzling reds, golds, brown, pinks, and a bit of green. I'm incredibly pleased with the overall effect.

Sea Foam Green Tape Dispenser

This sea foam green tape dispenser looks much better and classier in real life. I had trouble getting the color to show right on my camera. There are different pale seed beads, with glass cabochons, and the top is decorated with an orange/green stone from an old ring of mine. I love the pale opal-like crystals (which don't really show in these photos). I also included a few little splashes of orange rhinestones.

Purple and red box

This box is bright and features bold and pretty beads. I am not totally pleased with the patter, which is more symmetrical than I usually go and looks a little odd to me. Still, it's festive. I'm calling it "Flowy".

Small Black and Purple Box

This small black, purple, and gunmetal box is similar to another I made recently, and includes the same snake-and-flower cabochon. This time there is more purple, and the box is a different shape. I'm calling this "Beads and Roses".

Red and purple tissue box

This is tissue box is a new favorite of mine. Deep and bright reds and purples (darker than pictured). It has a funky hippie look to it, reminding me of something you might find in Megan from Mad Men's Laurel Canyon apartment. Which is why I'm calling this one "Laurel Canyon". (Oops on the couch and pillows in the background, but best light...)

Pale pastels and grey pencil holder

This pencil holder is made from pale grey, green, purple and blue seed beads, with larger periwinkle rondels and smaller grey rondels. I am calling "Spring Frost".

Deep blue tissue box

This tissue box is covered with beads and gems in various hues of blue, and accented with pale green beads.  Some of my favorite beads here are the round blues with a rustic flecked look to them. I'm calling it "Crisp Denim".

Multicolored pastels tape dispenser

This tape dispenser is titled "Easter Bonnet". The beads used are iridescent periwinkle, pearly grey, and various pastels. I couldn't quite capture the hues with my camera, but they work well together. Maybe this will bring spring on already!

Multi-colored tape dispenser

This tape dispenser is a wonderfully ongepatchket combo of blues and greens with purple and yellow (there's even a pink bead in there). It features more large beads than I normally use on tape dispensers, giving it even more of a funky feel. I am really pleased with how the colors all came together and it kind of reminds me of these lovely Indian print linens they used to sell at a store called Hand Block on the Upper West Side back in the day. I'm calling it, "Peacock".

Red pencil holder

This pencil holder is covered in a variety of red beads, in varying shapes, sizes, hues, and sheens. Lots of large special beads were used, and fewer seed beads, giving it a more rustic or rough look. The beads on the rim are a little uneven -- I'm not sure I should have made the attempt. This is simply titled, "Ruby".

Black and blue tape dispenser

I love this black/blue color scheme. This tape dispenser has an elegant rich and chunky quality. I've created a couple other items with these colors, and they are all favorites: another tape dispenser and a tissue box. This is called "Midnight, II".

Blue and red tape dispenser

This tape dispenser uses mainly primary red and primary blue beads -- a different type of color scheme than I normally go for. I think it has a kind of cool, retro look to it. Not too glitzy, not too over the top. Keeping it simple. I'm calling it "Kiddo".

Black and gunmetal box

I'm so pleased with this black and gunmetal box. It is a small square, with an interesting snakes-around-roses center piece on the top. The jet black and metallic seem to work well together, and the whole piece has a cool virile swagger.

Black and blue tissue box

This black and blue tissue box is elegant and complex. So much going on but it is by no means ongepatchket. It comes together beautifully as a whole.

Unfortunately I didn't properly line the beads up at the bottom and the box wobbled a bit. I fixed it by gluing a bead on one of the corners.
